Gerald Roy is the leader of the underworld in the small town of Wellspring. He's known to run a gambling operation - mostly out of the Prancing Boar, a local inn. He employs several thugs and other functionaries. Gerald only remains unbothered by the town guard because they do not have the manpower, or a court, with which to try him. No one has bothered even trying to bring him to court of the Baron Criswell.
As Wellspring is such a small town (~8000 burghers) Gerald is effectively _the_ only criminal underworld in Wellspring
He's a mean ass baddy, and ordered a squad of goons to try and kill Gruthar Rex just outside Wellspring on the evening of the party's first night in town.
We initially met Joachim at the Blue Plate Inn inside Wellspring. He was playing a quiet game of low-stakes poker with several other off-duty town guardsmen. Joachim was broken up about losing a guard to an extremely unusual ogre attack at one of the side city gates.
Joachim was won over to the party by Gruthar, during a conversation over a few rounds of poker, some swift tale telling, and subtly dropping word that they were part of Order of the Eagle. Joachim is upset with Baron Criswell for shorting the city guard of men and cash to continue protecting the people. There are now only 39 city guards for a town of 8000!
Mean bastard. Not from Wellspring. Doesn't give a frak about the people there. Doesn't seem to hold the respect of his men. Almost got owned by a mob of angry burghers.
The Baron of Wellspring who seized power around 995YK. His father died under mysterious circumstances, and his sister disappeared mysteriously shortly after he gained power. He's pretty stupid.
He appears to be siphoning away funds from the town of Wellspring and using it to raise a personal army which - according to Joachim, has been purchasing some incredibly large siege weapons. He appears to be creating his own rules and laws at whim, and overriding the town council at any time without regard for officiality. The Order of the Eagle desires him to be removed from office, should any proof of misconduct been found.
After a short meeting with the Baron in which he refuses to have Denva treated, Maxim discovered that he has a devastating war machine in his possesion; quite illegal!
Disappeared along with the rest of the Baron's Elite Guard when they were deployed mere days before the arrival of a contingent from the Order of the Eagle at Wellspring. She was next seen in the town square with two other Stormcrows and several mutated dogs slaughtering civilians around the Statue of St. Eleone.
She seems to be controlled by Cpt. Elomere of the Stormcrows by some sort of mind control. She has also been afflicted by a corrosive ooze that covers her body and does ongoing damage to people who come in contact with it.
The Stormcrows were ordered by the Baron to find an old temple lost somewhere near Wellspring.
A relatively old, and quite lecherous acting wizard in Wellspring. He definetely wanted to well to Denva as she was held captive in the town guard's hold - but her infection was a rather large turn-off for him.
