Personal
Bio
I was born in the late 1980s in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I grew up in a pretty quiet neighborhood, and through junior and senior high excelled at physical sciences. After senior high, I entered university to study engineering, choosing after the first year to pursue Computer Engineering. I graduated in 2009, and am currently working for a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta doing web development.
My current plans are to travel for about 3.5 months starting in April, then perhaps look for a new job when I get back to Canada.
Hobbies
I enjoy biking, raquetball, coding, video games, music, reading, and hanging out with friends in my spare time. I know how to play the clarinet, saxaphone, a trumpet - though I haven't played any in quite a long time. I am currently taking drum lessons with John McCormick at Alberta College in Edmonton. I listen to many different genres of music, but mainly to metal/rock , industrial, and electronica, and folk music. I also enjoy jazz, hiphop, and choral pieces.
Recently I started painting miniatures again, after a fairly long hiatus. Originally, I simply painted them for my Warhammer 40, 000 armies but I stopped playing the game (rules bogged down having fun too much!). However, I rediscovered the fun of painting miniatures and am back at it with renewed vigor and a different perspective on the work. You can see the models I do in the miniature gallery on this site.
I am currently learning german and mandarin chinese in my spare time.
Games
I play some games when time permits such as Left 4 Dead 2, Dawn of War II, and Rock Band 2, and League of Legends.
